Independent Non-Executive Chairman
Robert Wright was appointed a Director of the Company on 19 May 2004 and Chairman in October 2009. Robert has 30 years financial management experience, having held a number of Chief Financial Officer positions, including Finance Director of David Jones Limited. He is currently the Chairman of SAI Global Limited and APA Ethane Limited. Robert is also a director of Australian Pipeline Limited.
Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer
Peter Birtles was appointed a Director of the Company on 5 January 2006. Peter joined Super Retail Group April 2001 as Chief Financial Officer and in January 2006 was appointed Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. Peter is a chartered accountant with over 20 years experience. Prior to joining Super Retail Group, Peter spent 12 years working with The Boots Company in the United Kingdom and Australia in a variety of senior finance, operational and information technology roles where he ultimately held the position of Head of Finance and Planning. Prior to joining The Boots Company, Peter worked for Coopers & Lybrand. Peter is also a director of GWA Group Limited.
Reg Rowe was appointed a Director of the Company on 8 April 2004. Reg and Hazel Rowe founded an automotive accessories mail order business in 1972 which they ran from their Queensland home. In 1974 they commenced retail operations of the business which evolved into Super Cheap Auto. Reg served as Managing Director of Super Retail Group until 1996 and then Chairman from 1996 to 2004. Prior to this, Reg had 13 years experience in various retail roles at Myer Department Stores.

John Skippen was appointed a Director of the Company on 16 September 2008. John is the former Finance Director of Harvey Norman Holdings Ltd and has over 30 years' experience as a chartered accountant. John has served as a Director of Rebel Sport Ltd and Orion Telecoms Limited, Courts (Singapore) Limited, Pertama Holdings Limited (Singapore), Mint Wireless Limited and Briscoe Group Limited (NZ). John is currently the Chairman of Slater and Gordon Limited. John is also a director of Flexigroup Limited and Emerging Leaders Investment Limited. John is the Chairman of the Audit and Risk Management Committee.

Sally Pitkin was appointed a Director of the Company on 1 July 2010. Sally is currently a director of Billabong International Ltd and the Committee for Economic Development of Australia. She is the Deputy President of the Queensland Division of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission External Advisory Panel. Sally is a former corporate partner of a national law firm. Sally is the Chair of the Human Resources and Remuneration Committee.

Rob Murray was appointed a Director of the Company on 22 April 2013. Rob is currently a Director of Lion and Linfox and is a member of Kirin’s International Advisory Board. Rob was formerly Chief Executive Officer of and Executive Director of Lion (formerly Lion Nathan & Lion Nathan National Foods).

Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer
Peter joined Super Retail Group in 2001 as Chief Financial Officer and was appointed Group Managing Director in January 2006. Prior to joining Super Retail Group, Peter spent 12 years working in various divisions of The Boots Company in the United Kingdom and Australia in a variety of senior finance, operations and information technology roles. Prior to joining The Boots Company, Peter worked for Coopers & Lybrand. Peter is a chartered accountant.
Managing Director - Auto and Commercial
David joined Super Retail Group in July 2005 as General Manager of Merchandise and subsequently held the position of Chief Operating Officer – Supercheap Auto. In June 2009, David was appointed Chief Operating Officer – Auto Retailing and in November 2011 was appointed Managing Director – Auto Retailing. David is responsible for Supercheap Auto, Auto Trade Direct and Super Retail Commercial. Prior to joining Super Retail Group, David held a number of senior management positions in Coles Myer’s supermarket division across several States in a career spanning over 20 years.
Managing Director - Leisure Retailing
Steve joined Super Retail Group in 2002 as Marketing Manager. He subsequently held the positions of General Manager – Retail and General Manager – Merchandising. In January 2005, following the acquisition of CampMart, Steve was appointed General Manager – CampMart. CampMart was relaunched as BCF in July 2005 and Steve was appointed Chief Operating Officer – BCF in January 2006. In November 2011, Steve was appointed Managing Director – Leisure Retailing. He is responsible for the merchandising, marketing and retail operations of the BCF, Ray’s and FCO businesses. Prior to joining Super Retail Group, Steve was a National Business Manager in Woolworths Limited’s merchandise team. In 2004, Steve received the Australian Institute of Management Young Manager of the Year Award for Brisbane.
Managing Director - Sports Retailing
Erica joined Super Retail Group in November 2011 as Managing Director – Sports Retailing, following the acquisition of Rebel Group. She is responsible for Merchandise, Marketing and Retail Operations of the Rebel, Amart Sports and Goldcross Cycles businesses and operates out of our Sydney office. Prior to joining Super Retail Group, Erica held a number of senior management positions including General Manager of two women's apparel businesses for Specialty Fashion Group, General Manager of Merchandise & Marketing for Rebel and National Product Management roles at Harvey Norman and has over 15 years of Australian retail experience.
Chief Financial Officer
David joined Super Retail Group in December 2012 in the role of Chief Financial Officer. David holds a degree in Economics from the University of Sydney and is a CPA. David has over 20 years of finance experience in a number of industry sectors. He has held senior management positions at Qantas, Spotless and Lend Lease. David has overall responsibility for the finance, risk management and compliance functions for the Group.
General Manager - Group Development
Gary joined Super Retail Group in April 2006 as Chief Financial Officer and in 2012 was appointed General Manager – Group Development. Gary has over 20 years’ experience in accounting, treasury and banking areas across a number of industry sectors. He holds an honours degree in Commerce and Law from the University of Queensland, and is a CPA. After commencing his career with Ernst & Young, Gary held senior management positions with companies such as Citibank, Duke Energy and Flight Centre. Gary is responsible for the implementation of the Group’s multi-channel customer, supply chain and productivity programmes.
General Manager - Group Logistics
Prior to joining Super Retail Group in 2005, Graham spent 19 years with the Masterfoods (Mars) Group in Australia and New Zealand in various senior management roles followed by five years in retail general merchandise. He was Chief Logistics Officer for The Warehouse Group, Auckland and spent several years at Woolworths in the Supply Chain Operations Group for grocery distribution. Graham is responsible for the logistics functions that support the Group's business units incorporating the management of distribution centres, freight and imports.
General Manager Retail Operations – Auto Retailing
Pam joined Super Retail Group in November 2004. Pam has 23 years of retail experience in Coles Myer Limited. Prior to joining Super Retail Group, Pam was a Regional Manager for Coles Supermarkets and Pick’n’Pay and previously held positions in Merchandising, Store Development and State Services Management in a variety of locations across Australia. In 2002, Pam completed a Post Graduate qualification through Deakin University in Melbourne. Pam has the responsibility for the retail operations and store improvements across the Supercheap Auto business.
Company Secretary and General Manager – Group Property Services
Robert has over 17 years experience in property management. Prior to joining Super Retail Group in 2001, Robert was the Property Manager for Bank of Queensland Limited. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Accountancy from Queensland University of Technology and a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance. In addition to serving as Company Secretary, Robert leads the Group’s legal and property services functions which include property leasing and development; facilities and project management; and lease administration.
General Manager - International Operations
Steve joined the Super Retail Group in 2004 as Supply Chain Manager and in 2006 was appointed as General Manager - Overseas Sourcing. He has in excess of 24 years experience in sales, marketing and logistics. Prior to joining Super Retail Group, Steve worked in Global Supply Chain and E-Commerce Strategy for Reckitt & Colman, then as a Supply Chain Consultant within the Australian FMCG sector. He holds a degree qualification in E-Commerce from Monash University. Steve has been based in China since August 2006, managing our overseas sourcing operations in Hangzhou and Shanghai, coordinating our international shipping negotiations and managing our China logistics partner services at origin.
General Manager - Group Marketing & Communications
Kevin originally joined Super Retail Group in 2003 as Marketing Manager for the Super Cheap Auto brand. In 2005, Kevin left Super Retail Group to pursue other interests. In 2007, Kevin rejoined Super Retail Group as BCF Marketing Manager. In July 2008, Kevin was appointed General Manager – Group Marketing and Communications. Prior to joining Super Retail Group, Kevin held roles in advertising, sales and marketing in various companies including Franklins, Sargents and IGA.
Managing Director – Auto Retailing
Chris joined Super Retail Group in 2007. He is a graduate of AGSM with 22 years retail and wholesale experience, including sourcing within Australasia and the greater Asia Pacific regions. Prior to Super Retail Group, Chris was General Manager, Toys ‘R’ Us and previously spent 13 years with Woolworths, holding Senior Management roles in Merchandise as well as Retail Operations within Dick Smith and Big W. Chris is responsible for the Merchandise and Marketing Operations of Supercheap Auto.
General Manager – Group Information Services
Alan joined Super Retail Group in April 2010. Prior to joining Super Retail Group, Alan was the Deputy Director of the Information Directorate at the New Zealand Ministry of Health in Wellington and previously held roles as the Programme Manager – Telecommunication at Woolworths in Australia, as General Manager Information Technology at Progressive Enterprises in New Zealand and as Chief Information Officer of Brisbane City Council. Alan has also worked in senior roles with NRMA and Unilever. Alan is responsible for process development and information technology across the Group.
General Manager Merchandising - Leisure Retailing
Glenn joined Super Retail Group in 2012. Glenn has retail experience spanning 30 years with Coles Myer holding leadership roles across Merchandise, Marketing and Retail Operations in NSW, Vic, Qld and SA. Glenn holds an MBA from Deakin University and is responsible for the merchandise management operations of the BCF, FCO and Ray’s Outdoors businesses.
General Manager Retail Operations – Leisure Retailing
Terry joined Super Retail Group in June 1999. Terry has 19 years of retail experience in Coles Myer Limited. Prior to joining Super Retail Group, Terry held store management positions within Kmart across NSW and Queensland. Within the Super Retail Group, Terry has held a number of positions most recently as Retail Operations Manager for Goldcross Cycles and previously as Retail Operations Manager - Supercheap Auto. Terry was appointed General Manager Retail Operations – Leisure Retailing on 1 June 2010 In 2008, Terry completed a Post Graduate qualification through Chifley Business School and Charles Sturt University. Terry has the responsibility for retail operations and store improvements across the BCF and Ray’s Outdoors businesses.
General Manager - Group Human Resources
Tabitha joined the Super Retail Group in 2011, having previously held the role of General Manager Human Resources for both the Jupiters and Treasury Casinos. Prior to this she held senior leadership roles in Colorado Group, Terry White Management and Bunnings. Tabitha commenced her career with the National Australia Bank on their Graduate Programme, after completion of an Arts Degree. She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources. Tabitha has over 18 years experience in Human Resources and is responsible for Human Resources Management across the Group.
General Manager Retail – Sports Retailing
Mark joined the Rebel Group in August 2011 and is responsible for the retail operations for both the Rebel Sport and Amart All Sports businesses. Mark is based at our Rebel offices in Sydney. Prior to joining the Rebel Group he was the Sales Director - Consumer for Optus, heading their retail distribution and sales divisions. Mark has held a number of senior sales and marketing positions, most recently with Lion Nathan including the Managing Director of their Tooheys business. Mark holds an MBA from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
General Manager Merchandise - Sports Retailing
Rory Scott joined The Rebel Group in late 2010 as General Manager Merchandise and is responsible for the merchandise management operations of both the Rebel and Amart Sports businesses. Rory is based at our Rebel offices in Sydney. Prior to this Rory worked for Marks & Spencer in the United Kingdom as Business Director Lingerie and subsequently Australian Geographic as CEO in Sydney. Rory holds an economics degree from Trinity College Dublin and is qualified as a chartered accountant in London.
